Open house on the research vessel Aranda
On board the ship, you’ll learn about the Baltic Sea and its marine life, environment and research. Aquariums and microscopes will give you a closer look at Baltic sealife. You’ll hear the underwater sounds of the sea. And you’ll learn about Baltic Sea research and the measuring instruments used in it. The onboard laboratories will also be open to visitors. On the bridge, you’ll find out about the ship’s technology and navigation. We’ll show you how we monitor the Baltic Sea environment.
Baltic Sea experts will be on hand to answer your toughest questions. The participants in the open house event include the Finnish Environment Institute, the Finnish Meteorological Institute, Natural Resources Institute Finland, the City of Helsinki’s Environmental Services, the Port of Helsinki, and FINMARI – Finnish Marine Research Infrastructure.
